Community engagement - projects
There are many ways for residents to get involved with their community and Council, including events, forums and community engagement opportunities.
Community engagement
Every year, Council conducts numerous consultations on new plans, projects, works, services and issues in the local area. Feedback from residents allows Council to incorporate the public's views into its decision making process.

Join our online community consultation panel and have Your Say!
Want to have your say on what's happening in our region? Then sign up to Council's online community consultation panel, YourSay, and contribute to surveys and discussion forums on topics that matter to you.
It's free and easy to join - and you can choose your own user name to comment anonymously. Your privacy is protected because the panel is hosted and moderated by an external independent organisation (Bang the Table), ensuring Council does not have access to users' details.
YourSay allows you to have your say anytime you access the internet, and is ideal if you do not have time to attend public meetings. To register, go to YourSay and be part of Council's exciting new online community panel.
Community Plan
In 2010 and 2011, Council sought your views and ideas about how you want the future to look, to help shape the first ever Community Plan. The draft Plan was open for consultation from 21 March to 27 May 2011 and over 2500 public submissions were received. Council adopted the Community Plan on 19 October 2011.
