Two of Cairns' brightest young sporting stars have been given a helping hand to achieve their goals, thanks to the North Queensland Sports Foundation BHP Billiton Bursary program. Field athlete Brianna Bortolanza, 16, and tenpin bowler Katey Furze, 17, each received a cheque for $750 and a jacket, with the cash to help the recipients with travel costs associated with their sports.
