Council meetings
Ordinary meetings are generally held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month (unless an alternative date has been advertised) and are chaired by the Mayor.

Note: At the Ordinary meeting of 23 August 2023, Council rescinded the Planning and Environment Committee. No further Planning and Environment Committee meetings will be held; all matters will instead be tabled at Ordinary meetings.
Council meetings are open to the public with limited numbers (56) allowed in the Chambers. All attendees must sign in at ground floor reception. Meetings are also live streamed and recorded on Council’s website.

Council invites submissions from groups or individuals wishing to make a formal deputation to Council. Note: deputations are a public process and as such, the identity of persons making a deputation to Council will be on the public record.
Deputations are restricted to 15 minutes and will be held after the Ordinary Meeting (between 10am and 11.30am).

Advisory Committees provide advice and recommendations the help form the direction and policies of Council. This covers legislative compliance and reporting, community engagement, and project advice and stakeholder input. The duration of Committees varies; not all are required for the full term of Council.

Councillors are responsible for disclosing conflicts of interest on matters to be discussed at a Council meeting. When dealing with such matters, they must notify the CEO and the specific meeting of such conflicts.
Council is required to maintain and publish a Prescribed Conflict of Interest/Declarable Conflict of Interest register. This document is updated after each meeting at which a matter of interest is identified.
