Committee meetings 

Council operates six committees:

Meetings are held monthly. 

Ordinary meetings 

Ordinary meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month (unless an alternative date has been advertised) and are chaired by the Mayor. 

Special meetings

Special meetings may be held at different times.  In accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Act, two days written notice must be given of the date, time and object of the meeting.  All Councillors are required to attend special meetings.

Deputations

Cairns Regional Council invites submissions from groups or individuals wishing to make a formal deputation to Council for the meeting to be held on Wednesday 22 February 2012. Deputations will be held at Cairns Regional Council's Administration Building, 119-145 Spence St, Cairns.

To request a deputation, submit the Deputation Request form (see Related Documents at right) by midday Friday 17 February 2012.

Meetings are open to the public unless a closed session is declared.  Agenda outlines are made available to the public at the time of release of the agendas to Councillors. This information is accessible via the website or from Council's Customer Service Centres.

On meeting days, all open session reports are available on this website and can also be viewed at Council's Spence Street Customer Service Centre.
