Flammable & combustible liquid storage

The Dangerous Goods Safety Management Act 2001 (DGSM Act) and the Dangerous Goods Safety Management Regulation 2001 regulate the storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids on both residential and commercial properties, dependant upon quantities stored.

Regulation of properties storing flammable & combustible liquids involves giving approvals for the storage of the liquids, compliance inspections, auditing, issuing licences and investigation of complaints.

The objective of the DGSM Act is to protect the safety of persons, and prevent harm to property and the environment, from hazardous materials.
