Daintree ferry
The north and south banks of the Daintree River are linked by the Daintree Ferry. The ferry is the only cable ferry operating within tropical Australia.
Ferry operating hours
The Daintree Ferry operates daily between 6am and midnight.
Daintree ferry concessional travel policy
Council provides concessional travel on the Daintree River ferry to all persons who fulfil the eligibility criteria, subject to the terms and conditions for such concessional travel being abided.

Free Daintree ferry travel for locals
Cairns Regional Council offers locals residing in the Cairns, Tablelands and Cassowary Coast regions free travel on the Daintree Ferry during special, specific periods throughout the year. Residents must apply for a Cairns Regional Council "Smart Card" travel pass ( PDF, 0.04 MB ) and show it when using the ferry to take advantage of this offer.
