The best 16-year-old cricketers in Queensland will play for state selection when they compete at the Bulls Masters Youth Cup in Cairns.

Through the Community Partnership Grant, Council will provide $6,000 to the Cairns Cricket Association Inc to host the tournament from 10 to 15 December 2023.

This year, eight teams will compete with an expected 3,000 people participating in the event as players or spectators.

Each team will be provided with a former Australian or Queensland player as a mentor for the duration of the Cup and the cricket matches will be live streamed via Facebook and shared across the eight teams’ Facebook pages, with highlight reels posted on YouTube.

Since 2021, Council has provided more than $37,000 to the Cairns Cricket Association Inc.
