Biosecurity Act 2014
Purpose and Scope of the Program
Purpose
The purpose of the Programs are to confirm presence, absence and extent of invasive biosecurity matter and to establish the effectiveness and compliance of management activity as well as enable management activity.
Scope
The Programs will apply to the Cairns Regional Council area.
Start date and duration of the Program
The Programs will commence on 11 April 2024 and will continue for a period of five years.
Availability and price of a copy of the Program
A copy of the biosecurity program authorisation is available by request at the Cairns Regional Council public office at: 119-145 Spence Street, Cairns. Copies of the Programs are also available on Council’s website.
