Major Events

The Major Events funding provides support for nationally significant events that drive economic activity in Tropical North Queensland, by way of delivering out of region visitation, visitor nights, visitor spend, and overall economic impact.

To be eligible for Major Events funding, the event must stimulate:

• significant out of region visitation;
• total visitor nights between 25,000 to 50,000 visitor nights;
• significant national media exposure;
• a $3m to $10m economic return to the region.

You will need to supply comprehensive financial and budget data, evidence of public liability insurance, letters of support and planning documents for community engagement, marketing and promotion as part of your grant funding application.
