Supervised GSOP volunteer groups

Green Space Our Place has 8 supervised groups that meet regularly to improve the region's green spaces.

All volunteers work alongside our volunteer supervisors to learn new skills, develop their understanding of plants and meet like-minded members of the community.

Volunteers receive appropriate clothing and boots, and on-the-job training.

Cattana Wetlands Jabirus

Cattana Wetlands Jabirus meet Tuesday mornings to weed, plant and take part in general maintenance of the wetlands as well as enhancing the visitor experience.

City Sandpipers

Meeting on Tuesdays the Sandpipers work along the Esplanade, Pioneer Cemetery and other high-profile green spaces in the CBD to keep our gardens looking spick and span.

Down 'n' Dirty Gardening Group

The Down ‘n' Dirty group does gardening tasks at the Botanic Gardens on Wednesday mornings.

Russell Street Egrets

The Egrets meet on Tuesday mornings to manage invasive grass and vine species, planting trees and rubbish clean-up in Edge Hill.

Program currently suspended due to operational requirements: The Saltwater Creek ‘Salties’ revegetation group meets on Friday mornings to weed, plant and generally preserve the reserves along Saltwater Creek.

The Southside Tracks and Trails program is suspended currently due to operational demands I The South Side Tracks & Reveg volunteers meet Thursday mornings to maintain the bike tracks and return the weedy areas to native bushland.
