Council has continued its partnership with Circa Contemporary Circus Ltd (Circa), a leading not-for-profit major performing arts company.

This collaboration with Circa not only enriches the local arts scene, but also highlights its commitment to fostering innovative and culturally significant endeavours that resonate locally and beyond.

An initial one-year agreement expires in September and Council has voted to extend the agreement for an additional two years.

The agreement will provide up to $40,000 in-kind assistance per year.

Circa is one of the world’s leading performing companies and has toured the world to over 40 countries performing to around 1.5 million audience members since its foundation in 2004 and a regular fixture at the world’s leading festivals.

Circa Cairns has committed to a First Nations focus, aligned with a strategic plan to create and showcase locally developed works that can be toured nationally and internationally.
