Fully accessible with compliant graded paths and access points
There is one accessible parking space available directly in front of Art Work Spaces (next to Court House Gallery). There are also two accessible parks and a taxi rank across the road, in front of Woolworths on Abbott St.
Cairns Regional Council recognises all interstate and international accessible parking permits which allow holders to park for free, for unlimited times in any designated CRC on-street or off-street parking areas
Drop-off/ Pick up
There no dedicated accessible drop off/pick up areas, however there is a loading zone at the rear of the building via Shields Street (between Cairns Gallery and Mantra Esplanade). To access the loading zone please contact the venue manager on 4032 6620, so that they can remove the bollards. From the loading zone there are level paths to access the main doors at the front of the building and there is also an access ramp on the side entrance of Court House Gallery. See maps for details.
Alternative parking facilities
Closest alternative parking area is Cairns Esplanade Parking area which is council owned and is approximately 300m away. Patrons can cut directly through from the Mantra now and in future development the walkway from the esplanade to Court House Gallery will be opened up and all Council managed.
Court House Gallery is a gallery space with an event space on the front lawn. There is no set seating anywhere in the venue. Events on the front lawn with no seats –patrons can bring your own chairs or picnic blankets. If patrons do have any access requirements or questions, please can contact the venue manager on 4032 6620.
There is one accessible unisex bathroom. Each of the men's and women's toilets are equipped with ambulant toilets. The ambulant toilet is equipped with a baby change table. The bathrooms are all located inside on the front right-hand side of the building.
Telecoil software- It is only active when Court House Gallery sound system is in use (music/speeches)
No pets or animals are permitted at Council’s arts and cultural venues, with the exception of registered assistance animals. You may be asked to produce evidence that your animal is registered with an accredited training organisation under the Guide, Hearing and Dog Act 2009.
