In celebration of NAIDOC 2024, Cairns Libraries in collaboration with local artist Delissa Walker, proudly unveiled its first community artwork, a vibrant tapestry of individual expressions known as the Burnie Beans.

Each bean, thoughtfully designed by a local community member, represents a unique voice and story, woven together to form a collective tribute to our First Nations people.

This artwork stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and creativity, embodying the spirit of unity and respect for First Nations culture.
