Online Plumbing services applications FAQ
No, you can submit the plumbing application and gain approval without contracting a plumber however no plumbing inspections will be conducted until Council receives a Form 7 – Notification of Responsible Person from the plumber.
- A completed Form 1 – Permit work application for plumbing drainage and on-site sewerage work
- A completed Form 7 - if the plumber is known
- Applicable site, floor & elevation plans
- Commercial applications also require Hydraulic Plans to be submitted
- A copy of the soil classification report where the work involves sanitary drainage
- If the soil type is 'H', 'P' or 'E', hydraulic plans showing articulated joints or a Form 15 from a registered practicing engineer certifying that articulated joints are not required
If there is to be disposal of wastewater in an unsewered area:
- A Treatment Plant Approval (TPA) number/Chief Executive Approval (CEA) or Environmentally Relevant Activity
- (ERA) number must be included for any on-site sewerage treatment plant or greywater treatment plant
- A copy of the site and soil evaluation report must be attached
Should Council require further information, an officer will contact the applicant submitting the application

Upon successful receipt of the online application and payment, a Tax Invoice will be forwarded via email within 2 business days to the supplied email address. Please ensure you have entered a valid email address in the Applicant Details section of the online application.

Once your online application has been submitted, you will be presented with a reference number on the application receipt, and in a confirmation email (if you select Email as your preferred method of contact). You can use either of these reference numbers for your application when contacting Council.
If you have provided payment for the application, upon successful receipt of the online application and payment in the Council system, a Tax Invoice will be forwarded via email within 2 business days to the supplied email address.
Please ensure you have entered a valid email address in the Applicant Details section of the online application.
Council was not required to record As Constructed house drainage information prior to April 1998 in un-sewered areas. If your property was bult in an un-sewered area pre-1998, it is unlikely Council will hold plumbing and sewer plans.

Plans are ordered at your discretion. Council has plans of most properties however there is no guarantee.
