Gaëlle Pelachaud (Paris) and Joshua Percival (Cairns) team up for this joint residency and exhibition over a shared interest in birds.

During their residency, Gaëlle and Joshua will be spending time studying the birdlife at Cattana Wetlands, running workshops, and creating new work to be exhibited at the Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre, just in time for Carnival on Collins, where Gaëlle will be running a free and fun make-a-book activity to wind up her stay in Cairns.

Workshops: Artists Joshua and Gaëlle will offer dynamic workshops centred around birds in art. Joshua will guide you through some techniques to capture the movement and shapes of birds using a variety of materials such as ink, charcoal, and acrylics. While Gaëlle will take you through how to combine some of your bird artworks and collage materials into an animated book.
